EP met vijf nummers van aankomende Zeeds fenomeen. Te zien als een goede introductie van het
werk van deze singer-songwriter die ons eerder verraste met het debuut "Hope To Her" Kopers
van dat laatste album moeten het op "First in Line" doen met maar twee nieuwe nummers: "The
City And The Outside World" en "Stranger At Ease". De aandacht gaat toch vooral uit naar het
titelnummer dat twee keer voorkomt op de EP, eerst in de reguliere albumversie met Damien
Jurado op harmonica en als tweede als zeer breekbaar live-duet met Rosie Thomas. "24 Seven",
bekend van "Hope To Her" maakt het vijftal compleet. Al met al een prima introductie voor
diegenen die onbekend zijn met TDJ Mocht je Neil Young, Gram Parsons en Emmylou Harris tot
je favorieten rekenen, dan is dit iets voor jou.

Can be seen as a good introduction to the work of this
singer-songwriter that earlier surprised with the debut "Hope To Her"
Purchasers of that last album gets with "First in Line" two new numbers:
"The city And The Outside World" and "Stranger at Ease". The attention
goes nevertheless especially to the title number which appears two times
on the EP, firstly in the regular album version and as a second very fragile
live-duet with Rosie Thomas and Damien Jurado on Harmonica. "24 Seven", from
"Hope To Her" makes it complete. All in all a very well introduction for
those who are unknown with TDJ, if you should count Neil Young, Gram Parsons and
Emmylou Harris to your favourites, then this is something for you.
