but I've got most of his albums and since he was an early important influence for me,
not only in songs but also genrewise, it definitely feels sad and strange to hear.

"[APF] do a great job of crafting a very organic album out of mostly sounds created
from electronic knickknacks. It stutters and clicks and crackles, but is always
counteracted with warm touches of acoustic guitar, accordion, organ or something
else with a very autumnal tone.

>>TDJ NEWS June 13th 2007 - End phase of album#3
I've just returned from a meeting with Carl Edlom (producer-label boss-guitarist-macgyver) and
I have been listening to some final mixes for the new upcoming album. We've also decided the
track order. I started working on this album a little more than two years ago when I wrote
the first songs. It feels exciting that we're finally getting closer to the final versions.
Check out for the release, probably in August.
Ella (of Bobby Baby & It's a musical) has recorded some vocals recently and she's lovely.
Hollis Brown Thornton is working on the album cover. It's perfect. He's perfect! I would
have bought this cd if only for the cover (true!). So I'm glad that even the hords of people
that dislike my music still will have a reason to buy my cd and make me $$$$.
In all, the work with this album has been a sweet act of collaborations. My backing
musicians have been reinforced with people playing strings, piano, flute and organ. My cousin
Anders is playing tuba on two of the songs. I mentioned Ella above, but also Elina Johansson
(of Dear Euphoria) and Jennie Stearns are doing really great vocal performances. In my opinion.

I suggest that everyone interested in experimental/contemporary indie-folky
stuff (John Fahey/Nick Drake/M Ward/Will Johnson) should download the brand new album of
Bally. He's amazing, we've been talking about collaboration later this year. Working title:
Deer Theatre. Fingers crossed. Download the whole album + art work at his website now:
hansbally.com. Definitely one of my favorite releases this year.
Birds Fall
Also love the new album of Jennie Stearns who I managed to persuade to sing on my
new album. That's one of the few alt.country-album that really has hit my heart for the
last couple of years. Love her voice. I can't believe she wanted to sing on my album, but
I got her on tape. Yuko Ikoma and Radical Face has also made
masterpieces this year. I'm really looking forward to The Narwhal Invasion's forthcoming
release "If we were constellations" this year. One of the best art works I ever seen.
If there any justice in the world we'll see some great releases of my collective-
buddies Pacta, Björn Kleinhenz and Salvadori Fantastico this year too. And Bobby Baby...

Hi. Just wanted to post a little update about the ongoing
activities. It'll probably go against all rules of keeping
web-publishing simple. I'm currently recording my upcoming third solo
album "The Lake Acts Like An Ocean". We're working with 15
songs and will have 13-15 of them on the album. My band is
helping me and we've also invited a kind of small collective
of musicians to contribute to the album. Among others, my
cousin will play the tuba on "Love Campaign". Bobby Baby, Dear
Euphoria and Noel Thrasher has promised to sing with me.
All of them can be found on my myspace space (top friends)
and they will most certain release fantastic debut albums of
their own next year.
My side project A Perfect Friend (with musical genius C-J
Larsgarden) will be released on STILLL in April. I might
release both records on the same day. Both the solo album
and APF will be a subject for updates later on. Also hope
to force some small labels to release some exclusive/rare
stuff. We'll see.
Saw a real funny review the other day on the Gene Clark
Tribute CD I'm on "Thomas is stumbling through the song
and I can't hear a single word of what he's singing". Yeeh,
feels like reviewer is describing my whole career there. heh.
But over then to those who indeed did sing in a way not
only understandable but also magically inspiring.
Thanks for all the support from all of you that have sent
encouraging words, gifts(!), who have helped me book shows,
to my secret collective-members Anna & C-J. To Kite Recordings,
Parapluie, Swedish Showcase, Belmont, Klaus Plewa, Sara Broos,
Yer Bird, Eskimo Kiss and lots more. Merry X-mas and a happy new
year.

NEWS December 20th 2005 - Words from the maker
Hej.
Thomas here. Some words to sum up 2005. Thanks for all friendly e-mails
and supporting words during the year. I've even got a few gifts after shows
and in my mail. Thanks. It means more than I ever can express in words.
This year has offered me much. The new album was really fun releasing and I've been
able to spend some nice time on the road. I also feel that I have both overwon and
defined some of my limitations.
I'm looking forward to next year. I have written a lot of new songs last six
months. After cutting the songs for BTI, It felt like I'd completely drained my
sources for a long long time. But instead, I had one of my most productive periods ever
during the summer and fall and I think I have written some of my best and most sincere songs
ever. Having said that, I still want to wait for some time to see if they can stand
the test of time and form the idea I have now for the third album. Would love to have a new
record out before 2007, but it's hard to tell if that's possible. Albums tend to take more
time than expected. Anyway, no matter if it takes one or five years, there will be at least
one more album for sure.
As my dear webmaster Joakim posted for me below, I'm also intending to start this
7"-label next year. Keep an eye up for it. It'll be good. E-mail me if you want to contribute.
Speaking of good music, here's my pick of the best music of 2005. This year has
offered so much good music and it has been really hard to put together only 10 albums.
however, after a really late discovery of Magnolia Electric company's excellent cd from
this year, this is the final list:
TOP 10 ALBUMS
1. M Ward - Transistor Radio (one of the best albums all time!)
2. Antony & The Johnsons - I am a bird now
3. My Morning Jacket - Z

6. Jeff Hanson - s/t

8. Great Lake Swimmers - bodies and minds
9. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
10. Bright Eyes - I'm wide awake - it's morning

Handsome Boy, Mattias Alkberg BD, Håkan Hellström.

Antony & The Johnsons - Fistfull of love
BEST EPs
1. Pacta Sunt Servanda - A trap it is

NEWS August 8th 2005 - In the starting-block
Hi,
Thomas writing, I'm getting a lot of e-mails with questions
about the new record, understandably 'cause we first said we
would have the album out in the beginning of 2005, then before
the summer and now early in the autumn.
First of all I want to thank everyone writing for the
interest on my music. "BARELY TOUCHING IT" is in the very
last phase of completion. The songs are sent off for mastring
and we are working with the cover art. I'm very satisfied
with the result and this collection of songs is of a very
deep personal value to me due to it's content.
As a sneakpeak, me and the band did our 4th annual summer
show at Café August, Karlstad a couple of days ago. In a
all-in-all 19-song-set we performed songs from "Hope to her"
and "First in line EP" all the way to most of the songs from
"Barely touching it" and a handful brand new ones. This summer,
I've been having my most creative period ever. I've been writing
over 20 new songs which hopefully will end up neatly on a forthcoming
third full-length album.
The real start shot for BARELY TOUCHING IT will be the release
party we will have here in Karlstad, Sweden about a week before
the album's official release September 30th. We're planning to
go out touring in November, first in Sweden and then further on.
I'm feeling very restless and frustrated being stuck here, can't
wait to go out for touring. Thanks for all support and kind words.
Yours sincerely,
Thomas

NEWS May 10th 2005 - Thomas breaks the silence
(Hey J, can you put this up on the good ol' denver dot com thing)
Hi Everyone. Thomas here. Just wanted to update you personally about
what´s going on right now. I have been working on my new record
since I returned home from touring in Europe and USA and I´ve cut
vocals, guitars and harmonica to all the songs. Got to do some over
again (cause some cuts sounds crap). Anyway, Carl has really done a
tremendous work producing my music once again and the band is better
than ever. One of my absolute favs Ned Oldham has contributing some
vocals to the song silver boy and another really great singer and
songwriter Nina Kinert will do some singing too. We even got a guitar
solo on this LP so this will be something above average. Can´t wait
to hear your opinion on it.
We expect the recording work to be finished within a few days
and then Carl will start mixing all the pieces together to some
magic wonder. I got the album title clear to me now but I´m giving you
that later.
We´ve been working on 14 songs all in all and we'll probably have about
10-12 of them on the record. I know this won´t say nothing to you but
this is the songs of the season.

As you know, this cd will be out in September and then I will go out
touring again. I haven´t got something scheduled for the summer right
now but on the other hand, some people and promotors have asked me and
of course it could be fun to do some shows in the summer if it´s the
right opportunity. We´ll see about that one. Keep yourself updated on
the website for short noticed booked shows.
Until then, why don´t you check out the five best albums
this far for 2005. 1) M Ward - Transistor Radio (best album in years!!)
2) South San Gabriel - Carlton Chronicles 3) Pastacas - Pastacas
4) Jeff Hanson - Jeff Hanson 5) Bright eyes - I´m wide awake, it´s

how much I´m looking forward to Nina Kinert´s forthcoming one so I
guess this list is a subject to change later on.
